November 22, 2013 (Airportchandigarh.com): According to the media sources, Chandigarh Airport will not operate any flights during these times:
November 23, 2013: From 10 am until the entire day on November 24, 2013.
The following flights will operate before 10 am on November 23:
Jet Airways: Chandigarh to Delhi - 8.10 am
Air India: Chandigarh to Delhi - 9.15 am
SpiceJet: Chandigarh to Delhi - 8.30 am
The airport will be closed due to upgradation of the runway for two days. The airlines had received a notice in advance from AAI and Indian Air force. The runway will be available again on the morning of November 25 after 7 a.m.
If you are planning to board a flight during these two days, please confirm with the airlines concerned directly. There has been no official communication posted by Chandigarh Airport directly. Please contact the airport directly to confirm in case there are any last minute changes.
The airport will remain closed every first and third Sunday of the month after 1 p.m. to continue the repair work. The runway will be extended to the new international airport coming up in about an year in Mohali. At that point the entire runway will be redone. Until then the repair work will continue.
