Preity Zinta in a Heated Argument At Chandigarh Airport

April 15, 2011 - Bollywood actress Preity Zinta got into an argument with Chandigarh airport officials Thursday when she was not allowed to pass through a security check.

Zinta, who is co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab IPL team, had to board a flight to Delhi. When she was stopped by an official of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) who asked her to show her identity proof, she refused to do so. A tiff then took place between the actress and airport officials.

Airport director H.S. Toor, airport director defended the actions of the CISF official, saying that he was only doing his duty. He added that Zinta would have been allowed past the security check, but she insisted on proceeding without showing any identity proof.

According to Toor, it didn’t take long for things to get sorted. After some time, Zinta agreed to show her identity proof and she was allowed to proceed past the checkpoint.

When officials of KXIP were asked about the incident, they denied that any such thing had taken place.

On Wednesday, KXIP beat the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League match at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
