August 19, 2022 UPDATE

If you are fully vaccinated, you may still be randomly selected to do a mandatory arrival test. Pre-entry test is not required. You must also complete ArriveCan within 72 hours before you arrive in Canada.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to complete COVID-19 test at the time of arrival and also before leaving the country of your departure. Also you will be required to quarantine yourself for 14 days and get another test done on the eigth day. Proof of a valid pre-entry test result also required which must be entered/uploaded into ArriveCan app. Certain cases are exempted. Not fully vaccinated passengers are only allowed entry into Canada under special circumstances.

June 29, 2022 UPDATE

From June 11 at 12:01 a.m. (EDT) to June 30, 2022, the Government of Canada had temporarily suspended random mandatory arrival test for Covid-19.

December 18, 2021 UPDATE:

So far there are no new restrictions imposed on travellers from India. See the previous update for details.

  • Fully vaccinated foreign nationals may be allowed to enter Canada for discretionary (tourism) travel.

Foreign nationals who don't qualify as fully vaccinated will only be allowed to enter in specific circumstances.

September 22, 2021 Update:

Canadian govt. approves Genestrings Laboratory at the Delhi airport for COVID-19 tests for people travelling to Canada.

August 10, 2021 Update:

Direct flights from India to Canada remain suspended until September 21, 2021. Travellers from India can arrive in Canada via another country only after getting test reports from a third country.

July 22, 2021 Update:

The Government of Canada has suspended direct flights from India until August 21, 2021. A passenger can travel via ANY other country and obtain a negative molecular test report from that country to enter Canada. 

Canada IS NOT accepting molecular test reports done in India!

 

June 22, 2021 Update:

The Government of Canada has suspended flights from India until July 21, 2021.

During that period, passengers who travel to Canada from India via an indirect route will need to obtain a pre-departure negative COVID-19 molecular test result from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada.

 

June 16, 2021 Update:

According to a tweet sent by Air Canada to a user, "As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to persist, further suspension of the Canada-India route has been extended until July 31st 2021."

The Canadian Govt. had suspended flights from Canada to India until June 21, 2021.
